Ninth Street
Where Joey grew up, and where Ninth Street runs the corners.

Brick & Signal presents

A crime strategy game about a painter, his dead brother’s block, and a ledger worth his whole family.
Your tag is your flag
You are Joey, nineteen. Three years ago your brother Dre was killed and everybody said Ninth Street did it. Your piece follows you through the whole game. It goes up on every block you take, and where it ends up on the rail bridge, next to Dre’s or under it, depends on how you finish.
The hood has sides
You take the hood back one block at a time: a crew on the corners, product from the connect on each side of town, and fights you watch and call yourself.
Where Joey grew up, and where Ninth Street runs the corners.
A jazz club, soul food and a barbershop.
A pharmacy out front. The real business is in the back room.
The Professor sells out of the back of his gallery.
The reason to finish
Every ending is about which man Joey turns into. That’s why people talk about them afterwards.
The folder gets thicker every time somebody says your name.

The studio
Brick & Signal is an independent game studio in Albuquerque, New Mexico, run by Manny Mendoza. I’ve wanted to make games since I was a kid. Block by Block took a year of design, and I built it on my own, using AI tools along the way for the art, the music and the code.
